Accessibility Statement
Mednetiks Ltd wants mednetiks.com to be accessible and usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technologies or access the web in different ways.
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as our accessibility benchmark.
1. Our approach
Accessibility is considered as part of the design and development of the website rather than added after launch. We aim to make the site:
- usable with a keyboard;
- designed to work with commonly used screen readers and assistive technologies;
- readable when text is enlarged;
- structured with meaningful headings and page landmarks;
- clear in its use of links, buttons and form labels;
- understandable without relying on colour alone;
- usable across desktop, tablet and mobile devices;
- and designed with appropriate contrast, spacing and focus states.
Accessibility should make the website easier to use, not simply satisfy a checklist.
2. Accessibility standard
Our target for mednetiks.com is WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
WCAG provides internationally recognised guidance for making web content more perceivable, operable, understandable and robust.
Conformance is assessed against the finished website, not the design intention alone. For that reason, we do not claim a level of WCAG conformance until the production website has been reviewed and tested.
3. Content and features
When creating and maintaining the website, we aim to use:
- Clear page structure: headings and content organised in a logical order.
- Descriptive links: links that explain where they lead rather than relying on phrases such as "click here".
- Accessible forms: labels, instructions and error messages designed to make forms easier to understand and complete.
- Meaningful alternative text: alternative descriptions for informative images where appropriate.
- Keyboard access: interactive elements designed to be usable without relying on a mouse or touchscreen.
- Captions and alternatives: captions, transcripts or other appropriate alternatives for important media where reasonably required.
- Readable presentation: typography, spacing, contrast and responsive layouts intended to remain usable across different devices and zoom levels.
4. How this informs our work
Accessibility is especially important in healthcare. People using a clinic or practice website may include people with visual impairments, older patients, people using assistive technology, and people trying to understand health information while anxious or unwell.
A barrier that makes a website difficult to use may also make it harder for someone to find information or make contact.
We apply the same accessibility principles when designing and developing websites for clients: clear structure, readable typography and contrast, keyboard access, accessible forms, meaningful alternative text and content designed to be understood.
Where a client has specific accessibility requirements or obligations, these are discussed and agreed as part of the project rather than assumed.
5. Third-party content
Some parts of this website may rely on third-party services, such as:
- embedded video;
- maps;
- chat or interactive tools;
- forms;
- scheduling systems;
- or other externally provided functionality.
We aim to select and configure these services with accessibility in mind, but we do not control every aspect of third-party software. Where a third-party feature creates a significant accessibility barrier, we will consider an appropriate alternative way to provide the relevant information or function.
6. If something is not accessible
Accessibility problems are not always obvious during development. If you find part of mednetiks.com difficult to use, encounter an accessibility barrier or need information in another reasonable format, please tell us.
Email us directly: accessibility@mednetiks.com
You do not need to use a form on this website to report a problem with this website. If you would rather write to us, our postal address is shown at the foot of this page.
It helps if you can tell us:
- the page or feature concerned;
- what you were trying to do;
- and, if you are comfortable doing so, the browser, device or assistive technology you were using.
You do not need to provide any information about a disability in order to report an accessibility problem.
We will acknowledge your message, look into the issue and tell you what we can do, including, where a fix is not immediately possible, what alternative way we can provide the information or service.
7. Known accessibility issues
This section reflects the findings of our latest accessibility review. If testing identifies an issue that cannot immediately be corrected, we will describe the limitation here and, where reasonably possible, provide an alternative way to access the relevant information or service.
Production audit required before publication: replace this note with the real audit date and findings. If no material issues are found, state: "Following our latest accessibility review, we are not currently aware of any known accessibility issues that materially affect use of the website."
8. Scope of this statement
This statement applies to mednetiks.com.
The Mednetiks support portal at support.mednetiks.com uses a separate technical environment and is assessed separately.
9. Reviewing accessibility
Accessibility is not treated as a one-off launch task. We review it when:
- significant new functionality is introduced;
- templates or navigation change;
- important third-party services are added or replaced;
- or an accessibility problem is reported.
This statement is updated where the accessibility status of the website materially changes.
